Where? Location drastically changes what I'd be spending my money on.

Right now though, it'd be a Mercedes. If you're spending a lot of time in the vehicle, they just have the best interiors.

The newer Volvos are a close second. Haven't sat in one but apparently their seats are pretty amazing.

If I was buying one and not building one, it would be an Alfa Romeo Giulia.

If I was building one it would probably some kind of Volvo, an older Viper, or some year Wrangler.

I'd buy a car for about 20k and save the rest.

I would get a Fiat 124 Abarth, after the hard top version comes out. The rest is to buy gas so i can drive everywhere.

I'd take 25 of it, upgrade the rear end of my SRT8 with forged differentials, forged transmission and a twin turbo. The rest would be gas for a couple years.

This car does an hour commute in comfort and style. Plus it never fails to turn heads.

Barely used Dodge Challenger Hellcat or barely used Challenger Demon when available. Add supercharger if funds allow.

Gonna swing a Challenger R/T as my next ride when I have the cache.

Hellcats are still pushing $70s used and the Demon only had 3300 of them made, so they will never drop to 55, they are instantly a collectors car, even with a 100,000 miles on them.

55K?  Easy.  I'd just put the money in the bank.  I already have to many cars.  Plus my daily driver, which I commute 3 hours to work with, is fun to drive, has good options, great fuel economy, and has been getting upgraded.  My 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye 1.4 Turbo.  Already changed the intake, intercooler, piping, exhaust, brakes, rims, and computer.  Next is a modified turbo.

05 Legacy GT wagon and bank the rest.

Or if I have to spend all of it I'd invest it in the cleanest E39 M5 I can find and sell it for a profit later.

Easy. It also happens to be my dream car.

2014 Shelby Mustand GT500 662 Horsepower V8.  It's about 50-53 grand for the V8 version.

Hmm, for $55K I'd buy some sort of 4 door Audi like an S5. It's practical, comfortable and has power on tap.

Volvo XC90 R-Design T6 (if paying a $1,000 to $2,000 difference was allowed, if further rule bending was allowed, use it as a down payment on a XC90 Inscription or Excellence.

That's a damn tough question, if the quasi rules are to be followed. My normal choices of a db9 volante, v8 vantage or '05-'10 carrera are out the window, simply because sitting for that long with a daily commute would be just well, ridiculous, and while they may be grotesque amounts of fun in the bendy bits, they're not so fun sitting at stoplights.

I would probably lean more towards a newer m3, and with the left over swap out the exhaust for something a little beefier sounding.

Damn, I must be doing something wrong, I'm a 27 year old engineer with an hour commute and I don't drive a $55k vehicle. ;)

If I really had to drive it every day it would be a tough call between a Focus RS and a Fusion Sport.
