I mean like if we have money in our steam wallet or google wallet?

Not currently (to my knowledge)... Do you not have a credit or debit card? Even just a bank account and use PayPal... I personally use PayPal to pay for my subscription.

i would love to have them support something like iDEAL or just regular bank payments. i don't own or need a credit card and i don't really feel like getting one just for this forum's subscription :P

If you have a debit card you can set up a paypal with that, then subscribe through paypal.

Direct bank transfers are really expensive to do. For customer at least. But I'm with all suggesting another method besides PayPal. Would need to be international, not just used in single country like someone suggested before.

PayPal doesn't support international banks. Just ones in US, maybe in Canada.

Paypal definitely supports Canadian banks, and has since I signed up in like... 2001.

Thats my source. But I think you can have any bank account linked for deposit. But you can't have non-US bank as payment method/withdrawal.

EDIT: I use my bank (TD Canada Trust) as my only payment method in paypal. It's always worked, I think that it may be that that's the US paypal site, so they are speaking to US customers? Anyway, can we not pay for floatplane with bitcoin? I don't subscribe because another monthly subscription is the last thing I need.

I'm not sure, but you might do it with prepaid VISA. Then just move all of money from VISA to PayPal account and use it from there. Then again, prepaid VISA's aren't thing in here, so maybe not there either. Sadly we have to wait and see.

For PayPal in Canada you can link a bank account to your PayPal account. You can withdraw money from your PayPal account to your bank account and deposit money to PayPal account from your bank account which would take some time (because of Bank transfer time). You can pay with PayPal and it would automatically take the money from your bank account though.

Aside from a separate Floatplane app for iOS and Android with AirPlay and Chromecast support, I'd like to see directly putting credit card number within LTT.com to purchase a Floatplane subscription aside from PayPal or purchasing Floatplane subscription via iTunes or Google Play.

It'll come. We're bundling this into a LOT of other upgrades that will also include a separate site instead of running it through linustechtips.com.

 

IP Board (the forum software we use) and its limited eCommerce module is the main reason for our lack of payment options. We could hack everything into it, but since we're ultimately going to replace it, the dev time seems better spent on the longer-term solution.

 

For the time being it means reduced funding for the project for us, and shutting people who can't use PayPal out of FPC.. but in the interest of pursuing our primary goal of building the best possible FPC we decided we can accept this temporary bad situation.
