Should i upgrade my pc?

My desktop configuration:

i7-4770 3.4 ghz

z-87 hd3

16 gb ddr3 ram

gtx 650 

etc etc

 

I do some maya 3d modelling, and buying a 4k camera so i have to edit videos also-- and litttle bit of gaming

 

I have a budget of 2000 dollars

i must have to buy a graphics card and it might be the 1080 ti----- but im confused should i only upgrade the graphics card or BUY a entirely new pc......................Please kindly help me out

For 2 grand you'll be able to build a new pc with a 1080Ti and probably some money to spare too.I'd recommend making a new one.4K editing on DDR3 and GTX 650 will be a pain.

im just confused about upgrading ddr3 ram motherboard bla bla----but gonna buy a 1080ti of course

getting ryzen 7 1700 and gtx 1080ti would help to render these videos faster, if you're sure

well, an i7 7700 and 32GB of 2400MHz DDR4 would be the obvious step, but you could also get a Ryzen 7 build, which would kick the i7 7700 ass for multicore workloads. I'd recommend that with a decent X370 board for some good gains of 3.8-4GHz, and yeah, a GTX 1080ti. Some RAID storage and some SSDs would also be good..
