Should I go with an i3 7100 with 1080 or i5 6600k with 1070?

Hey I am wondering whether I should get an i3 7100 with a GTX 1080 or should I buy a i5 6600k with a 1070? I will be using this build for mainly gaming. Also 1 more question, will these bottleneck?

i5/1070 would be the better choice here.

i5 with 1070, i3 will bottleneck 1080.

6600k and 1070

But I strongly tell you to consider Ryzen 5 in place of Intel's architectures, it's many more cores clocked higher and it's better for general tasks

7100 + 1080 will bottleneck hard

idk

Absolute best choice here is an i7 7700 + h110 mobo or ryzen 5 1600 + GTX 1070

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

nope.

EDIT: You may have to slightly tweak some settings, such as AA, but nothing that will dampen your gaming experience.

A little at 1080p, need i7 for 144hz, but 1440p+ will be fine.

For sure the i5 with the gtx 1070. With those two paired together you will have a much more balanced system and one won't bottleneck the other that severely for the most part. That being said there is always a way to make a GPU and cpu paired bottleneck each other but that's okay. With the i5 and the gtx 1070 you will be able to get a more solid build than the i3 and a 1080

slippery slope, h110 =/= compatibility with kaby, stay with skylake to make sure it's compatible

tbh ryzen 5, something like a 1600 and a 1070 will give you an amazing gaming experience, as well as the ability to do much heavier stuff if you ever need to in the future
