High CPU Usage While Watching YouTube Videos on Chrome (With high end computer)

Hello! I have a Lenovo Y700 15ACZ Gaming Laptop! I recently installed Chrome  (with no existing extensions) to see if it can replace Firefox. Everything was going well until I tried watching 60fps video on YouTube. I checked task manager to find that my system was at 60-90% CPU usage while watching those videos! I tried searching around some forums to try and fix this issue. For example: I downloaded the h264ify extension, went into incognito mode, cleared everything, disabled hardware acceleration, reinstalled Chrome, and scanned for viruses and malware. I did a test with the same video quality in Firefox as well, and Firefox only plays videos at 20-30%. What do I do to fix this? I really like some of Chrome's features, but it's a shame I can't do simple tasks without running into issues! Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Chrome has high CPU usage. Maybe its because of this:

Yes. But wouldn't it be chrome's fault because Firefox still runs well?

Well, chrome has always had high CPU and RAM usage. If you want the features, perhaps see if Opera, Torch, Chromium or CoolNovo works for you.

But Isn't Chrome built off the same thing as Opera and the other one's you listed are?

Meaning that it would act the same?

Try them out to see if you like them. They are sort of similar. Also don't forget about Vivaldi

I get that part, BUT what I'm asking is wouldn't those browsers act the same (in terms of high CPU usage)?

Haven't use them before, but they look similar and have similar features. Some are based on Chrome, some are based on other things and one of the chrome was based on (chromium) so you should try that first.

The problem is, they only release snapshots, with Chrome working with them to provide the full release. May be extremely buggy:

Also, do you think it could be an internal issue with the CPU? I only had the PC for a year.

Probably not, since I get high usage with my i5 4460 too. I have 5 tabs open, and its at 33%. Five tabs at firefox for me is 16%. Its so low because my CPU is quite a bit better than yours.
