Which motherboard is best for ryzen 1700

I cant really give a proper answer to this, since it all depends on what you call best and what you want to do with it,

do you want a good Price/Performance MoBo?

or maybe fancy RGB and watercooling capabilities?
do you want to OC?

Just look into the 3 different chipsets first and pick one that suits you best, then pick the one thats best for you in the chipset.

Thats what I would do.

I have the R1700 and ASUS Prime x370 pro.

Board is great and a lot cheaper than the hero with very little missing feature-wise.

Great break down of feature here. http://edgeup.asus.com/2017/02/22/ryzen-am4-motherboard-guide/

I have that board and a 1700X with some Vengeance LPX 3200 RAM installed in it. OCing works just fine, up to a stable 4 GHz. The only issues I´m having are Memory "OCing" issues. "OCing" in brackets, because I´m trying to run it at the max speed advocated but i can´t. 2933 is the max it will go until AMD updates their mem support and Asus updates the Mobos BIOS.

Other than that it works really well and I can definitely recommend it for 160$.

Waiting on the AM4 bracket for my Kraken X62 to turn up before I turn up the heat really.

But agree with @iggybo that the Memory OC is messy. There is a good guide for supported memory timings for each memory type on the ASUS website. but my LPX Vengance 3000Mhz is only going to 2666Mhz.

Apparently Ryzen is working better with Samsung B die memory and low C timing memory.

It's related to the infinity fabric for cross core communication. Not 100% sure how they plan to fix it....

Spoke too soon. 2666Mhz was unstable. seems fine now at 2400Mhz.

This is my memory model if anyone is interested. Corsair CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) Vengeance LPX DDR4
