Combo jack is not working

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I just bought a new desktop computer with a lot of 3,5 mm jack ports. I have a headphone with a combo jack, unfortunately the "Realtek HD audio Manager" doesn't recognise that as a speaker AND a microphone. Is there a way that I could use it without an adapter? (motheboard: asus 270-a)

Desktops normally don't have headphone + microphone combo jacks.

You motherboard does not have a combo jack. So no, you need to hardware split it.

No, when it comes to PC's unlike phones they use separate 3.5mm jacks for audio out/mic in. You'll need some type of adapter. Unless you want to chop up some cables and take a hand at using a soldering iron to rig up your own.
