1500x vs i5-7500

r5 1500x vs i5-7500. i was originally going to take the 7500 but i thought that i could easily oc the r5. current benchmarks show that the 7500 is still better but i might steam or video edit in the future and i can oc the r5 so isn't the r5 a better deal?

and for the mobo should i get a Asus PRIME B350-PLUS or a ASRock AB350 Pro4

it is a better deal considering what you want to do.

Definitely the R5. The gaming differences don't show unless you want to do high-refresh gaming. And you'll like the 4 additional processing threads. Make sure to pair it with fast RAM, like 3000MHz, and if you want to stream you'll want 16GB

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

small advice. the price difference between a 1500x and a 1600 ($30.00 USD) is so small id have a hard time recommending a 4 core 8 thread  1500x over a 6 core 12 thread r5 1600. and the 1600 even comes with a cooler

as for intel vs ryzen on budget builds. ryzen wins period imho

I also dont know which one to buy, they are the same price for me. I only use it for gaming.

In benchmarks I see that the I5 - 7500 is something better, but if you watch the cpu load (%), the I5 is around 90% and the 1500x below 60%.

The motherboard will be more expensive same for the ram.

So I think I take the I5 7500.
