I won't have WiFi for a week, and therefore can't watch all the reviews (and I'm too lazy to search around the web without a PC), so could people just summarize all the Ryzen 5 stuff (benchmarks, temps, if it's a gaming CPU or not, overclocking, etc.)?

 

I really want this to be a good CPU (especially the 1600, which I think would be the best value (cheap 6 core, decent OCer)

Reviews Will come online today ... should be soon.

But R5 1600 is just like R7 1700 with 2 cores disabled. Around the same OC options.

 

You can expect it to run stable on 3,8GHz on all cores, and if you are lucky maybe 4,0GHz on all cores.

Temps .... I'm guessing no higher than 75°C at full load when OCed to max potential.

I have 4G, it's just that I don't have enough to watch youtube and search around, therefore I asked for all the most important stuff, when we get it (later today)

Whenever they feel like uploading (or when AMD said they could upload it)

The CPUs should be available today (April 11th), so we will probably see it all over the internet in a few hours

You won't need to watch YouTube videos. There will be plenty of reviews on websistes, that you will only use like 5MB from your data plan.

And as always, there is going to be a lot of talking going on this forum. Again you won't need too much data for that.

gamer's nexus video is up. Overclocks about the same at the r7, 3.8-4.0Ghz. Gaming performance seems to be pretty identical to a 1700x. So like good, clearly capable of gaming at a high level, but clearly behind most i7's. Outperforming the i5s in games that do a good job of taking advantage of more threads, and in games that don't take advantage of more threads, beating all I5s except the 7600k.

 

So if you want the CPU that will result in the highest benchmarks of today's games, then the 7700k is still the best option. If you're debating between a i5 7600k and a r5 1600, then its tough to make a decision based on today's games, and i think the r5 1600 is a better choice while taking into account future games.

just like go to your library and use  like a computer from there or something

or mcdonalds has free wifi

Problem is, I'm about 30 minutes from the closest place with free wifi, and I'm not allowed to drive yet. (And my parents won't drive for me unless there's some other reason to go (they don't think Ryzen is important enough))
