Hello Everyone,

 

The next episode of my podcast. The TAG Podcast is coming Wednesday with a some great topics.

I do however have a topic that I forgot to include that episode, so I'll post it here.

I appreciate community support so I want everyone to try to post their opinions about my list and tell me what they think.

 

Ok let's get started.

 

My iPhone 8/Edition Predicted Specs:

4 GB RAM, It would be great to see Apple add 4 Gigs of RAM since the average phone has 3 GB. They can definitely step it up. 

Apple A11 Chip with M11 Motion coprocessor. The M10 complimented the A10 Chip great, so let's improve it and use it for A11. Some new news from Apple's Processor manufacturer shows a smaller processor, but more power.

13-14 Megapixel Camera. This one many or many not happen but improving the camera will greatly benefit Apple again.

Wireless Charging. People have been begging Apple for this for years, better late than never.

4K 60fps. This will be hard considering 4K60fps is just barely making it's way into the DSLR market, but if Apple can figure it out, great.

8-10 Megapixel Front Facing Camera. C'mon Apple, C'mon.

Brand new Touch ID built into the screen, plus no Home Button.

USB-C or Keep Lightning. I would be fine with either.

Bezel-Less screen(like Samsung Galaxy S8). 

Improved LTE Performance(More MBPS).

3000Mah-4000Mah Battery. If Samsung can do it, so can Apple.

apple would never do the battery thing, they can't even make a phone as thin as the Moto Z and they try too hard

This might be true, Apple would have to decrease Logicboard space in order to make a bigger battery.

A lot of the stuff I agree with also there is going to be a 7s and also the iPhone X. Because it is the 10th anniversary and X sounds better. Plan to pay around $1200 though

People call it a lot of things. They have iPhone 8/Edition/X. The 7S will pretty much be the same stuff though so there is no point in predicting changes. Also, thanks for agreeing!

I'm an Apple Fan and I very much appreciate the S8! It's good for Android Fans and gives Apple something to do to speed up their R&D.

but i doubt apple will usb c their iphone. 

and make the phone thicker for a better battery (because this is apple)

Yeah I could see that. When I heard some of the articles about Apple for USB-C I thought it was crazy. I had to include it just incase. The 12mp on the iPhone 7 was great and all but we all want better cameras on our smartphones. You are also correct about the thicker apart(this is apple). I mentioned earlier that they would have to make the logicboard smaller to fit a bigger battery. Which could happen since their new A11-A12 chips are going to be smaller.

at this point,  i refuse to believe anything until apple says something

and even at that, i dont give a shit

the time im upgrading to a new iphone is the time where my 6s+ turns into an iphone 4.

You totally have a point. What is weird is that sometimes these rumors are right. I have a 6 and I'm upgrading this year because my 2 year contract is running out(Verizon still had 2 year contracts 2 years ago). This isn't happening until November so.

well, if you throw a bunch of shit at a wall some might stick onto the wall and not fall off.

aka,  random rumours might work out because of coincidence, or proof i guess.

 

im unlocked, but i dont see a reason to upgrade. im currently happy on ios 9.3.3, the only thing that would make me upgrade would be if youtube and discord stopped supporting ios 9, and even atr that it would have to be completely unusable.

Yeah I see your point. I use 10.3 on my 6 which is quite suprising to see since it runs smoothly, not an Apple thing usually.

I jailbreaked my iPad Air 2 10.2 but I decided to restore to backup and update since I accidentally restarted and Yalu stopped working.

1. Believable, although it's iOS so I'm sure the engineers will claim it's not necessary. (Yet somehow background Safari tab refreshing is still a thing...)
2. Let's hope so. ARM has licensed some of the best silicone technology to Apple in the past, so I'm sure they'll do it again.
3. It all depends on what Sony brings to the table this year. Hopefully even better low-light performance than what's already there.
4. Could take or leave it. Wireless charging hasn't really improved in the last 5 years, and is still currently slower than plugging in. Still cool to have though.
5. Considering this is hard to do without overheating the camera sensor, we'll have to wait and see what Sony can pull off.
6. Again, it's up to Sony to improve the previous iSight cameras. To be honest, 5MP is plenty fine for video calls.
7. No. Absolutely not. Fingerprint sensors should have a designated area, and I actually LIKE tactile buttons compared to force feedback.
8. USB-C ALL THE THINGS. Yes, I know Apple makes bank on Lightning Connector licensing fees, but since Apple's putting USB-C on laptops... ahem
9. There's no such thing as a bezel-less display. The Galaxy S8 is not bezel-less. If it were, it would leak out. We're not there yet.
10. Can't disagree here, however, considering that most carriers aren't yet delivering true 4G speeds except in select cities, we're still a ways off yet.
11. Hah! They could do it, but they wouldn't have the courage to increase the thickness of their phones. (OK, that was a cheap shot. I'll see myself out.)

that means if you restart you have to rerun yalu

 

i have a ipad air on 8.4.. well used to, now its on 9.3.3

my 6s+ is on 9.3.3 and i see no point in upgrading to ios 10.

I see you're point for most of these. A lot of people call the S8 screen "bezelless" and while I do understand that the bezel isn't fully gone. They call it is because of the left and right sides. Sorry for the confusion. For 11: I mentioned before that since Apple can adapt smaller processers, they can decrease logic board size to fit a bigger battery in.

I know that it is Semi-Untehered. I was having a bug with my Air 2 so did the common fix of turning it on and off again, it fixed the problem but I quickly realized my mistake. Yikes

Oh, I took no offence or was confused by you - I figured you were just referencing what everyone else seems to be confused over: "bezel-less displays" or the lack thereof. So it's all good.  I'd still rather see a slightly thicker phone so it's easier to hold onto rather than something razor thin. I mean, we're encouraged not to buy cases since these phones are "beautiful feats of finely crafted engineering" right? If that's the case (pun intended) then make the phones thicker please manufacturers, and while you're at it, fill all that extra space with an 8,000 mah battery so we can maybe achieve 3 days charge out of our phones.

I agree man. I took my 6 out of the case and instantly felt like I was going to drop it. Adding a little bit of bulk and definitely improve a whole lot. Thanks to Jony Ive, phones are meant the be beauty and perfect.
