Ryzen 5 1600+GTX 1060 gaming build, suggestions?

yashamalu

Hey guys this is my very first build, pls share your opinions on it.

Bought:

GPU: EVGA GTX 1060 FTW+ GAMING 6G

Storage: TOSHIBA 1TB 7200 32M SATA3

Monitor: ASUS VG278HV 27inch 144Hz

Pending:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600                                                                                    $220

Motherboard: MSI B350M MORTAR(AMD B350/Socket AM4)                $106

RAM: ADATA XPG DDR4 3200 8G                                                             $77

SSD: TOSHIBA A100 240G SATA3                                                            $86

Powersupply: CoolerMaster 550W GX550 (80PLUS Bronze)                     $58

Powersupply: CoolerMaster 550W V550 (tier 1)       $72

Case: CoolerMaster K282(mid-tower, comes with a front-mounted fan)     $33

FAN: CoolerMaster PWM LED                                                                   $6

1. Budget & Locationo

I'm mostly concerned about the ram, heard rumors about Ryzen having issue with high frequency ram, should I get some like 2400MHz or 3000MHz instead? I'm in China so all the dollar prices are conversed from RMB,  and we don't yet have Gskill Flare on sale. Also if you have any suggestions on better budget planning for certain parts, pls let me know.

2. Aim  &  3. Monitors

Pure 1080P gaming on a single monitor, the planned rig would likely to stay with me for 2 years(possibly slamming an additional 8G ram). I would like to slightly overclock the CPU and GPU(like a 10% boost).

Crisis 3, Arma 3, Fallout 4(with heavy mod usage), ME Andromeda, Escape from Tarkov, etc.

Wait for Ryzen 5 reviews to actually come out before committing to buying one.

Looks good. PSU could be better.
However imo, you should wait for reviews on Ryzen 5.

Thx for the reply, though what you mean by "better"? It would seem that 550W is enough even for overclocking.

Also for Ryzen 5 review, there have been plenty on Youtube.

Perhaps switch the K282 to something that has holes for cable management. Like the Thermaltake Versa H15 (mATX), or the NZXT Source 210 (ATX)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

"Better" quality. Wattage doesn't contribute to good quality. Get at least tier 3 from here:

Also for the Ryzen 5 review on Youtube, I believe that it is based on the Ryzen 7 CPUs by adjusting the cores, threads and clock speeds to match the Ryzen 5 specs. (correct me if I was wrong)

I dont know for sure but it seems that some people already got Ryzen 5, unless they are somehow faking it. Maybe they got it from pre-order or AMD gave it away for preview.

Personally, I will go for the Seasonic G and the Cooler Master V.
