Think I Might Have Got Scammed On Ebay

So just a few minutes ago I see a listing for $50.99 for an Xbox One S Minecraft Bundle brand new unopened with warranty and 5 were for sale. 3 had sold within the first few minutes so I purchased through PayPal's pay after delivery. Now since all sold the Ebayer took down the listing and deactivated his Ebay account. Now Ebay says that if you have already purchased the item you should still be good and receive the tracking information through PayPal. But something tells me I won't be getting tracking information and if I do, it will be a rock in the box. If this happens PayPal won't charge me correct? I have a verified unlimited PayPal account that has countless purchases on it through my bank and SSN linked with it. So I should win a dispute, correct?

eBay is good about covering fraud (usually). they helped me recently for something similar.

ebay normaly cover u in things like this but for the love of god look at the sellers page and if its to good to be true it normaly is

Well I bought a 4k IPS 27 inch LG monitor brand new for $270 on Ebay and was sketched out by that price. But I got a sealed brand new 4k monitor (which I am using right now). So I thought what the hell, might as well try my luck twice.

it will of been stolen and check the ebay seller profile if u find somthin like that always

Yeh, You are fully covered. Even if for some reason Ebay say no PayPal has got you covered

Yeah, the seller had 0 reviews, brand new account. So I knew going in it was sketchy as hell. But there is always that chance it could be a genuine listing. In this case I do not believe it was since he cancelled his account after they all sold. So I won't cancel order or anything. I will just wait it through and see if he actually ships something or a snowballs chance in hell, an xbox one s haha.

I don't mess with anyone that hasn't had at least 100 feedback and a majority of good reviews that did them.

Well I used pay after delivery through PayPal. I haven't spent a dime yet. PayPal bought it for me and after I get it delivered they will ask me if everything is alright, I then answer yes or no and they take the payment from me or they take the money out of the sellers account. And if it is a rock in the box I am pretty sure I don't even have to return it.

That´s kinda unfair to casual sellers like me. I have 11 valuations and all positive so far.

They helped me out when I bought a figma from someone and the seller bailed out cause it was a scam.

Your Telling me you get to keep the rock in the box? no way bout to order me a Sketchy xbox haha But for real though sounds like you have a good amount of protection here so it shouldnt be terrible if its fake i suspect youll never have it shipped to you and thus wont be charged and they maybe screwed up pricing? Forgot a 2 or somthing

Yeah I still don't have a tracking number... I doubt anything will ship. In which case I will open a report and PayPal will side with me. So if I never get the Xbox a dime isn't coming out of my bank account.

I'd have to say it's less he took down the listing and closed his account and more that ebay was notified that it was a scam and removed the listing and deleted the account.

 

Regardless, an Xbone with a game for around $50 should not even be considered for purchase as it's highly likely to be a scam.

Then how are the newbies supposed to get buys? I sell old computer parts I find lying around for 50% what other people on ebay sell them for but noone gives feedback, but even if they did Id only have 20

Its a common scam, from my understanding its a quick way for them to farm a bunch of names, phone numbers, addresses, with the possibility for some free money if someone forgets to dispute it. Paypal/eBay will side with you on getting a refund no questions asked though, just prepare for the possibility of telemarketers calling you, spam email, and spam snail mail.

 

About a year ago there was a massive flood on eBay, literally tens of thousands of listings of phones, tablets, consoles, etc listed for ~$10 to farm info.
