installing custom rom safe?

Im thinking about installing linage os? is this safe

Is the ROM itself, why yes.

Is the installation process and voided warranty safe? Nope.

If you're asking yourself this, then you're not prepared to do this basically... there's risk in everything, ways to lessen that risk is to learn more about the subject. Nobody will tell you it's safe, because it's all down to how you are doing it. If for instance you have unlocked ther bootloader and flashed clockwork mod or TWRP already, then there's much less risk as you can always flash another ROM on if it fails.

playing around with custom ROMS is pretty easy once you have a custom recovery, getting a custom recovery on a device is usually the sketchy bit that makes me kinda nervous, i had to use ODIN to flash a recovery onto my s4 mini which kinda worried me, i think thats only for samsung phones though, im sure you can get a customer recovery on other phones without using a PC.

 

I am using LineageOS myself on my s4 mini, it's super stable and with Gapps installed its perfect.

I personally wont do it on my main phone because of the risk when trying to flash a custom recovery, your phone might get bricked. For me, its not safe to flash custom roms if its your main phone.
