Trackpad pinch to zoom acting as CRTL + Scroll?

I'm wondering if there's a way to fix my trackpad's pinch to zoom, when I do it on any application or even the desktop, it functions as if I'm pressing CTRL + Scrolling forward or back instead of a true pinch to zoom like doing it n my touchscreen, or on a phone. Is there a way to fix this? It's ultra annoying that I have to zoom to certain percentages on Chrome and wait for it to process and scroll back down to where I was...etc.
