You mean the non-tech savvy PR person, handling the companies Twitter account, said due to miss understanding that a feature is unique to itself and was quickly pulled down after being verified? Calm down dude. Just a mistake. It is not a press release where you usually have multiple verification by different people on the information before anything is released.

When I install Chrome, I don't have any information about it tracking my every move. If I use an Android phone, I have no information that anything that touches Google servers, nor what accesses Google servers, is being tracked. And unlike Microsoft where most is telemetry data collecting, this is actually for tracking, linking to Google account, with the attempt to really know you, and sold off. Microsoft tells you at the moment you install the OS or start the system for the first time if it is an OEM system. And now, improved further with Privacy options available at this first startup stage, and not hidden away.

My opinion of the features:

 

- Start Menu: As I have already gotten used to the Live Tiles (gotta say; not nearly as bad as everybody is making it look), this does not affect me either way.

- Edge: Not my go-to browser by any means, but it has saved my skin countless times where both Chrome and Firefox have failed catastrophically. Preview Tabs are very nice.

- Web Payment API: Convenient, but the risk for errors and exploits is rather massive if not done properly.

- Cortana: This seems to assume that you have the same applications installed on different systems. This might not be all that useful.

- Settings: A minor improvement, but I'll take it

- Night Light: Nice idea overall, but I'll keep f.lux installed in the meantime. An arbitrary bar is useless to me, give me something of a number!

- Storage Sense: Funny that it took Microsoft this long to consider an automated cleanup of junk files, and even this seems too basic. CCleaner says hello.

- Limit win32: Important thing to have for the household-paranoid. Considering that this allows the installation of win32 programs before flipping the switch and usage of such programs afterwards, I cannot understand the assumption that Microsoft will later lock it to an opt-out.

- Colours: People can finally make the UI as flamboyant/edgy/cute as they want.

- Themes: This might be useful IF it is not locked to the online theme, and allows us to customize afterwards.

- Game Stream: As this locks you down to a specific streaming service (and not a particularly popular one at that), I think I will pass.

- Game Mode: Does not hurt to at least try it. There are people out there that are obsessed with getting any FPS gains possible, even when exceeding the monitor refresh rate(s).

- Game Bar: What is that again?

- Reset Apps: Never had a need for this, but I suppose it helps in cases of misconfigured settings or corrupted installations.

- Restart: Not exactly ground-breaking or life-saving, but still long overdue.

- Ebooks: So many other options; who cares?

- Paint 3D: A much needed upgrade, with all of the interesting and rather annoying quirks and limitations of the original program.

- Windows Defender: A bit easier to manage, but is anything else addressed here?

- Out-Of-Box Experience: I don't get it; it looks the same to me.

- Windows Hello: Never tried it (I might get the Logitech Brio soon), so I have noting to compare this to.

- Mixed Reality: Without anything binding to it, not exactly useful.

- High-DPI support: A band-aid solution to a very complex problem. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Oh you think so or have some hard evidence?  If it was really only that they wouldn't go so far to prevent people disabling it and try to force everyone onto spy10. BTW all Google stuff has a link to their privacy policy and upfront asks if you want to send usage statistics or not.

Yes you can disable telemetry data collection in Chrome, but you can't disable the personal data tracking. The web browser always communicates with Google servers. Anyway, if you want to have this conversation, make a new thread. This is off topic as it is, and discussed to extreme levels.

And within its own UI and not some obscured location and without 3rd party tools. And you always have the option to ditch it since there is a whack ton of alternatives. And BTW AFAIK android do not contain the tracking, its the services tied to the store and other google stuff which arent present on a vanilla android.

 

Now then on the other hand MS has a monopoly and kept fully silent about their data collection, then about the fact how it ignores user preferences and bypasses the hosts file. Then the "faulty updates" that "accidentally" modified those in favor of MS and so on.

 

And just to be clear, its not ok no matter which one of them is doing it. But MS actions are just too shady, even compared to google. I would dare to say that they sunken even lower than FB.

Android not giving any information of it touching Google's servers? You must have used an AOSP phone deprived of all google services (you lucky rabbit you) cause this is what you get out of any phone when first booting:

Under the Process tab, they are in the last group at the end. Details tab, nope. You can sort by name (default), and skip/ignore them yourself.

The UI is very neat but I guess the main concern is how good is it? Will it stack up to third party AVs? As of now, Windows Defender isn't as good with others when it comes to real time protection.

The updates to Edge have me excited. I can't get over how amazing Edge is compared to other browsers. I've been search for a good browser for a long time only to find it's been installed on my systems this whole time.

 

The lack of extensions was annoying but that was really easy to work around.

Still think it looks UGLY the start menu and the windows system in general. Sitting at a desk all day looking at this will seriously annoy the hell out of me and i would want to change it and even if i would change the WHOLE windows 10 system it would still seriously annoy the hell out of me becuase it would still looks like a god dam Tablet. Which in itself is even more annoying than it looking like something i wiped my arse with. lol

I dont get why youd want to block win32 applications though. 

Windows tablets which are Atom or Core M based come to mind.

 

Any device which doesn't need to rely on Win32 apps should have them disabled for security reasons.

Update

Microsoft said that Windows 10 Creators Update will NOT be released in March, and the official release date target is April 11.

It would seem that Microsoft is fixing some final kinks in the update, and that the version number will have a decimal point: 15063.x

Good that they are taking their time, and make sure everything is right, and not rush to meet a deadline, and cause issues to many users.

Pretty good set of updates though.

Unified settings would be great, merge Control Panel entirely with Settings, also File Explorer dark theme would be awesome to have.

As far as Themes would be amazing if it's like a visual styles supported too, you know such detailed customization etc.

Wish to see how improved Game Mode will be with time. It's a neat feature and good it's there.

Windows update... updates are improved too, so that's good.
