Intel 7700K - Which Air Cooler or AIO to buy

Hello,

I got myself a 7700K and an Asus Maximus RoG 8  Ranger - (170)

I am going to update the Bios (for the first time ever) and I need help choosing a Cooler of any kind for my CPU

I ve been looking Into BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3  and BeQuiet Silent Loop 240mm as well as BeQuiet Pure Rock 2 (does that one fit ?)

After asking several Members via direct msg they suggested to open a new Thread.

I have only mild overclocking in mind or none at all since I never overclocked anything other than my old GTX 970.

Buying used is fine if it´s quiet and cool enough.

Thank you for your help

I have two Corsair ML120 in a push/pull config. Those are a good choice and arent too expensive

You are useing two case fans to cool your CPU and it´s working ? - that´s something new

if you get something like Noctua NH-D15, you can overclock it and still have it silent. But you need to check if it fits in your case because this thing is enormous.

5900X

MSI MEG X570 Unify

32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

RTX 3080

Dark Base Pro 900

Corsair RM1000i

He has them attached to the CPU heatsink, instead of the fan that comes with the Hyper 212. He is not using them as case fans. You can't have air cooled CPU with just the heatsink without fans, that would quickly result in overheating.

Edit: Like this:

Image result for cpu push pull

Main:  1650 v2   @ 4,6GHz   -   X79 Deluxe                -   GTX 1080 @ 2000MHz   -   24GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz / CL10

Side:   i7-4790K @ 4,5GHz   -   Maximus 7 Hero        -   GTX 1070 @ 2114MHz    -  16GB DDR3 @ 2666MHz / CL12
