S3 mini lagging quite a lot for a S3 mini...

Guest

Well, the title explains it pretty well. I had a Sony E4G (actually, I still have it). I had to give it up, because of battery issues (I could usually watch a YouTube video for 2 minutes before it just gives up on life.). I replaced with a old S3 mini I had. One problem, I'm a forum and YouTube whore, to put it nicely. It's hard to not get aggravated when YouTube videos and the forum lags. I mean, what? YouTube... lagging ? Can someone please help me?

Fixes I tried:

Updating YouTube and Chrome

Factory resetting the phone

Restarting the phone

All of the above again, still didn't work...

I have a Galaxy Avant (basically 93% of an S3 in terms of CPU performance), and my phone gets pretty retarded quite often. It's probably just a combination of slow hardware + a well-used install of Android.

well, it's a pretty old phone, which was kinda low specced on release. so i guess lag is to be expected here?

you could go into the recovery and clear you caches, but i dunno if it'll help much.

I guess it's quite old. Maybe I should check how far it can clock...

that's always an option, and while you're at it you might want to flash a lighter custom ROM. that should also improve your experience quite a bit!
