Blizzard remasters original StarCraft

God damn you go to a richy rich school lol. Im jealous

Lol yeah. Lots of rich dudes. Some of them are nice and reasonable. Others... Not as much.

Last year one kid was asking me about getting a $5000 pc :|. This year, he said that he traded it with another kid for tickets to some sports game.

Have seen two kids in the past year with $2500-$3000 budgets for pcs for their birthday or something.

Just found out a week ago that there's this one kid that, with the money he got from his bar mitzvah, got THREE pcs, one with a 6700k, one with a 7700k, and one with a 6900k. I think he has two 1080s in the 7700k rig, and has one 980 in each of the others. Apparently the 7700k is his gaming rig, and he uses the 6900k rig ONLY FOR STREAMING. Like literally, the sole purpose of the 6900k is to stream the games he plays on the 7700k.

I know you get a lot of money from bar mitzvahs but that's like $6500 that he spent (I think he has some fancy ass 4k monitor too) that he coulda saved or bought something more reasonable with. Idk, buy 100 shares of AMD? :D

Some people are cool though, and there's plenty of nerdy kids, who I fit right into xD

Awesome, I hope it ends up being good.

Now they need to do Diablo II LOD, that'd be amazing if remastered.

What may be nice to add to this article is the fact that Blizzard is making the original SC game totally free!

Also, for the first time in ages, Blizzard will bring out a patch for the original game, patch 1.18a.

The patch basically brings back a workable ladder and matchmaking system and support for Windows 7/8/8.1/10 will be added.

other than that not much has changed from the original game except that (finally) custom hotkeys are added.

Starcraft Remasterd is basically a skin put over the original game. Both remastered and the original broodwar are compatible with eachother.

I have a few questions about this. I wasn't a competitive player back then and certainly not now. I spent most of my childhood playing 'Use map Settings' or as you'd call it these days Arcade games. Will those games that exist in BW work in the remaster? Also can we have more than 12 selectable units? At least let us select multiple buildings!!

I want to know if they have a snack room as well provisioned as Valve's please!

Welp just got back an hour ago :P.

I couldn't take pictures but they do have a bit of a kitchen, but it's nowhere as good as the Valve snack room. They have a little fridge with drinks and when I went they had a bunch of bagels and cream cheese on a counter and usually they have some snacks and there's also stuff for like coffee and stuff, but it's definitely not on the scale of the Valve snack room.

They did have a cool game room with like 12 pods with a monitor, headphones, and a ps4 with a chair and had a sort of living room right next to it that had a ps4, xbone, wii u, and an N64 (ended up playing mario kart on it for a little :P).

If you have more questions I could answer them. The HQ isn't very big though.

They said most of the game is untouched, so it's unlikely we'll be able to select more than 12 units or more than 1 building. Part of that kind of goes into the precise competitive balance that the game has been known for for so long.

I would also imagine that means we'd still have custom map settings, it still exists in Starcraft 2, but Blizzard has really been locking down player freedom in their games recently so I'm not sure if it's there or not

Already a better remaster than most "HD" remasters out there.

Assuming the price is roughly 19.99$ USD.

That said you can play the original campaigns in SC2. So unless the palette makes you nostalgic..
