I'm having issues with Amazon.. I'm speaking to an Amazon agent about my Prime membership. I had previously paid for the year. I contacted an agent before. I asked to keep the yearly plan still going but Cancel until 29 January 2018.

He then cancelled it and said yeah done...Now they are refusing to reinstate my prime membership and they are saying that I have to pay for another contract.

Please, tell me who is wrong here.

Thank you

So you wanted to cancel the automatic renewal then correct? I think there may have been a miscommunication on their end as to what you actually wanted.

Ahh, I'd pick up the phone and see if you can get it resolved better that way. If the agent you get initially doesn't seem to be able to get it fixed then you'll need to ask for a supervisor as they're normally authorized to do more things.

When you "bought" your years worth of Prime, how much time was "left" on it, when you asked them to "cancel" it?

I 100% believe this was a miscommunication. I barely understood what you meant.

I had Prime since it started. It renewed on the 28th Jan of this year... I called them up asked if I could continue with prime and cancel it next year. The agent said yeah, sure. Then he processed to cancel straight away. Now I've called them again and said you have to pay a new membership...

Oh okay, I see. So you wanted to disable Auto-Renew?

I can definitely see how they misinterpreted that and thought you wanted to cancel right away. Based on your OP, I had no idea what you were talking about.

So: The fact that they canceled right away? Likely just miscommunication - a mistake on their part, or poor wording on your part. Either way, no big deal.

The fact that they won't re-instate the Prime membership? That's not good. Speak to Amazon Support. Be firm. Do not take no for an answer. WITH THAT IN MIND, don't get mad, don't lose your cool, and don't start yelling, cursing, or being a dick to the Amazon Support Agent. Be nice and polite but firm. If the person cannot help you, ask for their supervisor or another agent.
