Good News Website for an old web browser?

I would like a news website that still gets updated with current news and loads well on an old web browser. In particular, I'll be using this on the Opera Browser on the Wii. I tried using Google News but the Wii ran out of memory. So I need a really basic news website, something that will load quickly and work well with a Wii. 

 

Any suggestions? Bonus points if you know of a basic news site that isn't text only, like something with small images! :P

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special. -_-
