RTS game suggestion

Hi,

 

I'm a big Age of Empires fan (with 250+ hours of gameplay) and I'm looking since they've been having server issues for the past few months in some areas. I tired Civilization but didn't really like it, the fact that you have to wait your turn kind of upsets me. I also the economy aspect of AoE, and being able to build a city (instead of just destroying stuff). I'm currently downloading Company of Heroes 2, but I'm looking for something closer to AoE. I'm considering getting back to Starcraft, I'm not sure if that's still a thing. Do you have any suggestion? Please no LoL.

Total War Warhammer is pretty good and the game just matured so all factions have been released.  Lots of fun and the "waiting your turn" only takes a few seconds at the end of a move cycle

Europan Universalis series of games?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Sadly the RTS market isn't as popular as a decade ago so Total War Warhammer is pretty much the game.

You also have ashes of the singularity but i heard a mix of things about it and else you could try REALLY old game like Lotr battle of middle earth and command and conquer.

Lotr BFME is a free game at this point and you can download a .iso online.
