Does my bluetooth device slow down my internet?

Chaicho

I recently bought a bluetooth usb device to connect my wireless earphones to my pc.

Now i couldnt make them work but I found out that It is slowing down my internet slower.

I found out because Im getting ping spikes in a game (league) which is very very noticeable.

As soon as I disconnected it from my pc, my ping went back to normal.

Does anyone know why bluetooth affects the internet connection?

Because they operate within the same band of 2.4GHz, your little Bluetooth radio can be interfering with the Wi-Fi. Try using cables whenever possible over wireless solutions. If you must use wireless, try changing the band for the Wifi

If you are wired, then that is most certainly a strange phenomenon. Have you tested the repeatability? Try to measure your internet speeds with something like http://www.speedtest.net/es with and without the Bluetooth working. Remember that we humans tend to identify patterns that are really not there in order to explain what happens around us. Correlation != causation
