Dual 1080p monitors or 1 1440p monitor

anonvx

Should I go with Dual 1080p 144hz monitors or one 23.8" 1440p 144hz monitor? I can't find the link for the 1080p monitor but here is the 1440p monitor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IOO4SGK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1DU3MGQ34D9DH&coliid=I3HI0SSIZB5DNG&psc=1

I will be using these for gaming and video editing.

I really like dual monitor setups. And at 24" 1080p will look decent

75% of what I say is sarcastic

So is the rest probably

I started with 2 1080p 24 inch monitors. When I eventually purchased a larger "L-shaped" desk I was able to buy a 1440p 27 inch and I set that in the middle.

So ultimately it comes down to how much productivity you need. The more screens.. the easier it is to look at different windows without needing to resize or switch. (especially useful when gaming, or doing school projects.)

But if you just want to game really, I think 1440p looks a ton nicer, but depending on your budget I'm almost tempted to say wait until next years GPU lineup (hopefully some 4k killers) and then save for a good 4k monitor.

It depends. Will your rig be able to deliver 144 fps in 1440p? If not you will see no benefits while for example playing CS:GO or Overwatch. I personally really like dual monitor setup it gives me more work space and I can always check some stuff on the other monitor while in game. It also helps a huge amount while I'm coding :)

Main Rig - AMD Ryzen 1800X @ 3.9 - NZXT Kraken X62 - MSI X370 SLI PLUS - G.Skill TRIDENT Z RGB 16GB 2667MHz - 2 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX1080 WindForce OC - NZXT S340 (Purple-White) - OCZ 120GB, Seagate 1TB - Corsair RM750i 80+ Gold - SAMSUNG S24D590 24", HP L1950g - Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum - Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum - Creative Cambridge Sound Works + two random Philips speakers, Logitech G430 headset - Win 10 Pro x64

Retro Gaming PC - ASUS T3

Server - HP ProLiant DL380 G6(Currently assembling it) - 2 x Intel Xeon E5520 2.26GHz 8MB Quad Core Processor

For video editing the 2 monitor setup will help a lot with  being more productive and efficient.

Also 1080p at 24" does still look quite good imo.

for gaming only..single best monitor. for productivity as many as u need. i need two..some people thinks three is not enough. i have seen forex or option traders have 6-8 monitor setup in both home and office. the bottom line is buy according to ur use case scenario.
