Cleaning the inside of Cherry MX Switches (G710+)

While I had some juice on my table, my cat knocked it over... I cleaned my keyboard (G710+) right after the incident and it still works fine. However, some juice seems to have gotten inside the switches, which now means that some keys take about 3 seconds to come up again because they're gunked up inside...

So, now that I've called Logitech support, they've told me they can't do anything about it. I don't really want to buy a new keyboard, so I thought about cleaning the inside of those MX browns, but I don't know how...

I am now looking for a way to do that, if that won't work, help with replacing the switches themselves would be nice too.

Too much work IMO, just buy a new G710+ (do you still have warranty?)

Oh, and I find it ironic that your account picture is a juice box...

I still have about 1 year of warranty, but Logitech support told me that "liquid-accidents" aren'T covered under warranty.

Also, it's a milk carton, but yeah

I dunno, would there be someone interested in a YT video about repairing "juice-damage"?

But, yes I will continue this thread

OK, here we go,

First of all, I didn't buy a G810.

So, after washing the keycaps I put the keyboard in the dishwasher for 45min at about 45°C, the I let it dry in the sun resting on a baking tray covered in rice.

After that, I completely disassembled it, dried it with paper towels and then I left each side of the main PCB with the switches for 2 hours on a heater.

And guess what, I just reassembled it and I'm typing this update on it (and I don't have to use my backup rubber dome keyboard :)).

Thanks for all the help guys, I didn't end up making a video or taking pictures but I'm just happy that it worked!
