Soundcard output voltage

iKheopz

So I have a Lenovo Y50 and I'm planning on buying a condenser microphone. I would need an output voltage of 5 volts or more to get the best sound out of it. Is my soundcard recent enough?

If the soundcard is any good it should manage 5V, but 48V phantom is unlikely.

Is this for phantom power? If so, sound cards don't provide that. At least, as far as I know.

I want to connect it to a 3.5 mm audio jack

Thanks! But what do you mean when you say that 48V phantom is unlikely?

What Mic is it speciffically. If its 3.5 mm I doubt it'll be 48v because most of those use XLR.

Your soundcard probaly cannot handle 48 v

I can't find the model that you're talking about. Btw I play the baritone sax so I'm looking for quite some low-end response
