Best way to sell two used gtx 980s?

Alright, I've never sold any graphics cards before, and I just upgraded to two gtx 1080ti's, so I was looking for advice on the best website to sell them on, and how much I should sell them for. Should I do ebay? Craigslist? I'm also concerned on getting screwed on ebay, by the buyer saying the cards were defective and then making a claim and keeping said cards and the money.

 

They are two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4095 MB cards, founders edition I do believe. Any advice?

Craigslist maybe, least chance of scam since they pay in cash

Or sell used on Amazon

Never had experience with craigslist, can I ship them to the buyer or does it have to be an in person thing? If I can ship them, do you just send the cash first or?

craigslist or other local meanes, look at ebay for references on the price then sell it for 25 to 30 usd more.

Nope its in person only I believe

Amazon or CL is usually way better, amazon if you want to ship and CL if you want pure cash with no cut from amazon

I'd be willing to use craigslist, but I'd rather not get robbed, I know that might sound stupid, but never done it before. Any ideas to mitigate the chances of that happening?

It completely depends on whether you wan't to sell them quick and cheap or wait for a buyer willing to pay market value. Craigslist for quick sale. Amazon/Ebay (and days to weeks of waiting most likely) for market value.

I'd buy them for 400 total, but I've sold all my GPUs and don't want to stockpile again.

If you try to sell pricey electronics on eBay and you don't have a ton of positive feedback and/or a long track record, you will get screwed. I've done well in avoiding it so far by simply listing out the condition of the item in excruciating detail, including any defects, including pictures of everything, restating my inspection results and any concerns, then stating very clearly in bold font that all sales are as-is and no returns are accepted.

 

And if someone decided to bitch to eBay, I'd still lose. Fact of life. eBay sides with the buyer 99.5% of the time. I've gotten lucky thus far and the only person who tried to scam me did so by claiming INR...before the item was delivered...to their PayPal confirmed address. Still, had I not gotten on the phone with eBay as soon as I saw that there was an open return on an item that was still in transit, I probably would have lost that claim and my very expensive piece of electronics.

The problem with online auctions is that its so quick and easy to bid, so there's always the possibility your auction is going for more than you hoped with determined buyers who already asked detailed questions getting into a bidding war with each other and driving up the price, then some doofus pops up out of nowhere at the last second and bids on an impulse and wins, THEN after the fact decides to ask questions about its exact condition and realizes that they could get it cheaper, so changes their mind and simply doesn't pay, or worse tries to return it, totally ruining your auction and wasting a lot of time. I've had this happen once.

 

When I was finally able to relist it like a month later, it went for way less.
