Retailers Begin Selling AMD Ryzen 5 CPUs 3 Weeks Ahead Of Official Launch

Looks like we might actually be getting some benchmarks sooner then expected, with actual Ryzen 5 chips (Not the downclocking clickbait we saw recently, nothing but love for Linus though :D)

thats a pretty major mistake tbh, but i look forward to benchmarks

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Doubt it's real. the sticker is on the wrong part of the box to start with. (assuming it'll be in the same place as the r7's)

You gotta love quality journalism. Not only they can't get even the continent right, they also don't bother backing their words with anything: if you claim "retailers have started selling the chips", you must be able to name the shop. If all you have is a picture by some anonymous guy from the wrong continent, you should adjust your text accordingly.

Rumors are rumors, while verifiable information is either verified or it isn't information.

Yep, we're close but still not there.

Unfortunately, the part that is corrupted is the S/N so we have no way of verifying the result... We have to dig deeper. Masked rectangle is 16x5 = 80bit, however we don't have to guess all bits, just few are enough (thanks R-S error correction!)

So, I've modified the zxing library to randomly fill those missing bits and guess what, after few thousand iterations I got a valid result:

And guess what - it verifies correctly as a valid R5 CPU! :)

i wouldn't see why not. the r7 series were sold at the price amd gave so why wouldn't the r5 series cpus.
