the 460 plays well over 60fps on rocket league but 'd get the 470 if you ever decide to play a more gpu intensive game

So I'm building my first gaming pc. I need some help choosing my gpu. I want to play Star Wars battlefront, overwatch, cities skylines, ashes if the singularity, and rocket league at 60fps minimum at 1080p. I want to pair with with the ryzen 5 1400. It's not released yet, but watch linuses video on it. Which one is better value? The rx 460 or the 470? The cheapest 470 (4gb) is $70 more than the 460 (2GB).

The 470 is ALOT faster, and the 460 wont hit 1080p60 .... more like 1080p30

i get a 1080p ultra rocket league well over 100fps with the 460

overwatch runs at 60 aswell since the 460 is keeping up the the 1050 battlefront i would be worried about

OW and Rocket League can literally run on an abacus..

Battlefront I'm not sure about, would go with 470/480 to be safe

Well battlefront will run on the 460, but at low/med settings 

 

The 470 is the better buy tough

If you could save the extra $100 you could get an Asus Strix Rx-480 8GB which would be able to play most current games on Ultra and the 8GB of VRAM is nice as games get more and more demanding (like GTA5), but if you must pick between those two the 470 is a much better option

Well aware you already chose a best answer but the 470 would be more well rounded in many titles. But yeah the 460 will do the job if you're strapped for cash and can't really afford the 470.

470 is enough for battlefront. I play it with my 960 on very high-ultra and 470 should be in that perf. category

It's a surprising bit higher, 960 is on par with 1050Ti which is around 20% slower
