Quote

Nickeline or niccolite is a mineral consisting of nickel arsenide (NiAs) containing 43.9% nickel and 56.1% arsenic.

Small quantities of sulfur, iron and cobalt are usually present, and sometimes the arsenic is largely replaced by antimony. This last forms an isomorphous series with breithauptite (nickel antimonide).

Stop asking people to just straight up do your homework for you. If there's a specific thing or concept you don't understand, and need someone to help you out with that - that's okay. But that's not what you're doing.

In all seriousness, the forum needs a 'No asking the forum to do your homework for you' rule.  ...Because kids keep asking the forum to do their homework for them. o.O  It's literally happening like once a week at least.

I'm more shocked that they're not smart enough to Google it and find the answer themselves.

If that's the future, it's going to be a very, very sad future indeed.

I wasn't sure if the metal extracted from nickeline was nickel, even though Wikepedia stated that it did.

It was an unnecessary action for me to do, I get that, but I was just extremely paranoid and worried, that's all, so I just wanted to make sure I was right.

Nevertheless, I'm deeply sorry for my indolence.

I don't have any problem with people asking for homework help, but it should be like in school. A proper teacher won't just give you the answer when you ask for it. It should be more about guiding you to discovering it yourself. You need to show that you have done some work yourself before you can ask for help.

Just posting "hey what is the answer to this" is wrong. But posting "hey I think this is the answer, but I don't understand this part. Is it X, Y and Z or am I on the wrong track" is totally fine with me.

The first example is laziness where you expect other people to work for you.

The second example is showing that you have done the work yourself, but need assistance in figuring the last thing out or want someone to verify your answer because you care about being correct and learning.

Agreed - a few times, someone has posted asking how to figure something out, and I took the time to go through, line by line, with formula, showing them how to get the answer - but I didn't put in the final figures - forcing them to work it out themselves.

Once, I made the mistake of doing all the work and showing the answer, and the OP (different user) just threw another question out to try to get me to answer it too. I refused, saying "just use the same formula I provided above".
