You should get a 7700k also I would ditch the optical drive and install via usb. Also check out ryzen.  You might wanna grab a 1700.

This will be much better for streaming. Also you could easily fit a GTX 1080 in here now if you want

No I haven't. Honestley haven't looked into Ryzen at all. I tend to stay away from new Tech and go with what has been tested and proven. Care to inform at all of why it might be a better choice?

Well so far Ryzen has been proven to be a better option for streamers than the 7700k, AMD shows examples of this on their launch stream and JayTwoCents did a stream yesterday trying Ryzen 7 streaming while playing ghost recon wildlands (whuch is a pretty CPU intense game) and the stream ran extremely smooth and the game ran perfectly, if you were just using your PC for gaming then i would say get a 7700k but as your using it for editing and streaming Ryzen seems to be the way to go.

Stream:

Prefer a IPS Monitor

Do you prefer 21:9 monitors for more screen real state for the traditional 16:9?

Ultra-widescreen Monitors:

  • LG 29UM58-P (29" IPS 5ms 75Hz)
  • LG 29UM68 (29" IPS 5ms 75Hz) - this monitor has built-in speakers
  • Asus PB298Q (29" IPS 5ms 60Hz)
  • LG 29UC88-B (29" IPS 5ms 75Hz) - supports freesync

You can also look through the monitors in pcpartpicker, choose what suits you.

Hope that helps a little :)

More cores/threads. which is good for multi-tasking. This allows some cores to run the trans-coding tasks for streaming, while others run the game.

The processor cores are weaker and is not as good for single threaded tasks, and most programs haven't been optimised for it yet.

If using CPU encoding, this can be an issue on a processor like the i7 7700K, which can result in a lot of frame drops as the various programs fight for resources. However, the i7 7700K does have an often overlooked integrated GPU, which can be used for quicksync encoding, and is fine for game-streaming with this, although requires some configuration, and not all streaming programs support this.
