OS X file sorting automation workflow.

I used to use a software that is called hazel to automate file sorting on my macbook.

Here is one of the scenario: once a new pdf file is downloaded to my desktop, i ask hazel to automatically move that file into a folder that I pre created called : PDF collection.

Can I do this using apple's own automation app??

If so, how can I do it?

Hazel 4 is quite expensive and I don't really wanna pirate it. So.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

you can write a script which finds pdf files on your desktop and copies in that pdf collection directory. you can then asign keyboard shortcut to run that script. you also can asign voice command to it. you do it with automator. i have done similar things with it.

Computer users fall into two groups:
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.
