What PSU should i buy?

proaliahmadrpc

Here is my current PC.

FX-6300

Sapphire RX 470 Nitro

2x Corsair 4GB 1600Hz

Asrock 970 Pro3 R2.0

2x Seagate 500GB

My current PSU is Corsair VS 550, but after i upgrade my GPU from MSI R9 270, my pc always auto restart without error when playing heavy games.
Some of user in this forum said that i need to upgrade my PSU.

Any advice?
I only need a entry-class PSU and non-modular or "Best bang for buck", my budget around 80$
Please help me, thank you! :D

What games? Do you know what the temps were at the time of the shutdown? This sounds like an overheating issue. What do you mean restart? Please be specific.

It could also be a heat issue. But the PSU should be upgraded too.

When i benchmarking Company of Heroes 2, or TW Rome II, for the temp GPU 72, CPU 69. Just like normal restart, no warning or something,

Its weird that it would restart, this problem is likely unrelated to the PSU. If the PSU coudn't supply power, I would imagine the whole thing would just shut off completely.

I assume you are from Australia.

Great budget PSUs include the XFX Pro Series, XFX TS series, Antec Neo ECO II, Antec High Current Gamer, Corsair CX 450M, Fractal Design Edison M, Fractal Design Integra M and Corsair CS 450M

First I suggest getting a new PSU, and if that doesn't fix the problem, create a new forum post about it.

Oke, is Seasonic S12II-620 good enough?

I personally have only had hands on experience with EVGA Supernova series PSUs, and live to have a great experience with them. But I hear good things about sea sonic PSUs.

It is fine, but you don't need a 620W supply, a good 400W unit is easily enough.

Look at the ones I listed above.

EVGA supernova line ranges from Meh to very good, don't treat the Supernova line as one, because they are not created equal.

NEX-B, NEX-G and BQ are meh but often overpriced.

GQ, GS and B2 are quite good

G2, G3, P2, PS and T2 are amazing.

Seasonic makes some of the best PSUs and is very much a safe bet when it comes to buying a PSU.

Or stretch for 500 for better future upgradability if you have plans to upgrade within the next year.

There is no need, what is he going to upgrade that requires the extra wattage?

He is currently running a FX 6300 and a RX 470, so it is a value for money build. When it gets not good enough for their needs, it should be replaced and possibly sold off or given away as a full computer.

What? Your VS550 is more than enough. Probably overheating.

It's a pretty mediocre PSU and should be replaced anyways if he has a discrete GPU. The 270X demands as much power as a GTX 980.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.
