Is it safe to drink AiO liquid cooler water?

I accidentally drank some water from an AiO closed loop cooler earlier today. Is this dangerous? I have read somewhere that they put anti-bacterial and anti-corrosive additives in the water, so should I be worried?

The cooler in question was a Corsair Hydro Series H115i if that is of any relevance.

Thanks.

How much did you drink? If you only took a small sip, you will probably be alright.

I recommend you to consult the manual, it will probably have some better advice than I do.

But seriously, how did you manage to drink coolant?

No it's probably not safe since they do put anti-bacterial and anti-corrosive additives in the liquid.

I don't know, but there usually is a page with health and safety things, it may be there, and if it isn't, OP may go down in history as the first person who died of coolant.

-Crapbook

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

But with air coolers you may accidentally eat the fan and choke, that's a considerable risk too...

I don't know how much I drank, probably like a deciliter or a cup of it. I just heard there is something called ethylene glycol in the stuff, is this true? It says it's an antifreeze and that it is "moderately toxic" on Wikipedia. What does this mean? Also since it's not concentrated, but mixed in with the water, should I be OK? Does any one know the proportions mixed? This is actually starting to worry me now.

If you really did drink some, go to the doctor ASAP. Even if it isn't a big deal you would rather be safe then sick/extremely sick or even death if you drank enough (I don't know how much that would be) Although the death is probably very highly unlikely unless you drank like all of the liquid in the AIO so I wouldn't worry about dying, just go to the doctor.

Idk about that

Quote

Ethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, sweet liquid, commonly found in antifreeze.[1] It may be drunk accidentally or purposefully in an attempt to cause death.[2] When broken down by the body it results in glycolic acid and oxalic acid which cause most of the toxicity.

Thats from the Wikipedia page, death 99 percent wont happen since he only drank about a cup imo but I'd definitely still see a doctor.

How the hell would a doctor know what an AiO cooler is anyway? and exactly what it contains? That's why I asked here.

a doctor doesnt need to know what the hardware was, why does that matter ? he just needs to know that you drank ethylene glycol, im sure he will understand
