AMD Ryzen 5 and 3 Tested!

Great Scott. That was the worst Doc Brown impersonation, ever.

This communities sense of elitism is disgusting. Who cares about the clickbait you esoteric prudes! The content was enjoyable and thats what keeps a channel going. If all the money was in the thumbnail and title, they wouldn't bother with the rest now would they?!

This is the future, clickbait is here to stay in every market and industry. Pound your chest all you want geezers, But the content of the video was good, and that's what I support LTT for. Shame your so called LOYALTY can be broken by some minor transgression.

Or, you know, people may just see this attempt at "clickbait" as you call it (in reality it was a straight up lie) as one more step down the slippery slope that is the chasm of mediocrity LTT has been circling the drain of recently. You say their content was "good" in this video, in my opinion it was rather meh. They didn't account for the fact that we don't know how AMD will split cores/CCX's for their 6c12t SKU as there is a lot more to it than just "disabling" things like LTT did as it will directly affect how well the cores communicate with each other. So this is all basically speculation at it's finest. Couple that with a title of "AMD RYZEN 5 AND 3 TESTED!" and you should be able to see why people got so upset as they expected to get information, not trolled.

I know your account is only from May of 2016 but they have been on the downhill slide for a while so it's more than just "some minor transgression". They've been doing CPU benchmarks at 4K which makes literally zero sense from a CPU benchmarking perspective. They've made pointless videos about the apparently novel idea that upgrading an old laptop with an SSD will "breathe new life into it", which anyone who even faintly knows what an SSD is could have told you. They make a video called "The SOLUTION to Video Card OVERHEATING & DEATH" pretty much all of which is like a paid advertisement from EVGA and their "new" cooler. This doesn't help anyone who is having GPU overheating issues but the title sure as hell wouldn't tell you that. They make a video asking if it's worth it to buy thermal compound in bulk and then say it's not worth it, all because they bought a shit no-named brand. If they bought say the 600g tub of Prolimatech PK-Zero, which is half a degree worse than Gelid Extreme (AKA pretty damn good) they could have actually TESTED this and used it over the course of a couple of months with their testing different CPUs and see how the bulk version held up with frequent air contact due to having the lid open for a while over the course of numerous applications. But no, they take the "easy" way out and make a worthless video that helps nobody.

But hey, we're just "elitist geezers" as you put it. Who gives a shit if we've been around the block a few times and know enough about what we're doing to be able to call bullshit when we see it. Also in regards to the "clickbait/lies" being the future, you/Linus/anybody else who believes and embraces that can blow it out their ass as far as I'm concerned as that's about all it's worth now and ever will be.

Yeah, it's best we say nothing when they do something wrong. Seeing at their like/dislike ratio on the video, there are more people that dislike it than I thought. If such a huge part of the community doesn't like something they should voice their opinion, not keep quiet about it. That is how you actually help them and steer them in the right direction. They should not be doing videos the community doesn't want/support, nothing good can come out of that. It's best they make a video "GTX 3080Ti tested" and then start doing a lot of math how it should perform in the video right?

Remember, loyalty != blind loyalty/fannboyism.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I for one don't think the "Previewed" change is any bit better.

I was on the road all day today, got home was going to take a shower and saw that that LTT had a Ryzen 3 and 5 Preview??

Is it really that dumb of me to believe the biggest tech community on youtube had a real preview? I hold LTT in that high a regard and I feel betrayed and then insulted by the community who calls me stupid. LTT is pretty premium when it comes to its content, working with the manufacturers themselves, getting the best possible of everything that is hardware...

I got baited with "previewed", it still sounds too legit. I believe "simulated" is the most correct but i know it isn't attractive.. *sigh*

I can't believe people actually defend this. I love LTT and have for many years, (in spite of when I created my forum acc), and I can understand and have tolerated a certain (high) level of click bait and cringe... But this was hurtful and I hope you realize it. ALL of you.

And we should just bend over a take it? This isn't even the beginning of an argument. If anything, you're proving the point that crass commercialism is replacing actual substance across the board. Forgive a few "geezers" for wanting to preserve a bastion of integrity.

They actually tried to simulate Ryzen 5 and 3 processors and tried to give us an estimate thats good but misled us by titling the video as if they got Ryzen 5 and 3 chips just to attract viewers and get more view count. The title and thumbnail of the video makes us think as if they are at AMD Ryzen 5 and 3 testing place and are having a look at it. Titling it as "Estimating Ryzen 5 and 3 Performance!","Simulating Ryzen 5 and 3!" or something like that would have made sense. Everything is good except the Title. The content in it actually gives us an estimate of Ryzen 5 and 3 processors which will make people decide what to buy even though it is simulated it gives us an estimate to make right decision if the title is correct then everything would've been good.

'We can't wait to verify it against the real deal'

Does that mean tomorrow's video is going to be you simulating R5s and R3s while actually finding out how much cache you ended up with, making some guesses about AMD's binning, proclaiming those to be 'the real deal' and 'verifying' today's results against them?

Cause that wouldn't surprise me.

wow someone who didn't whine like a baby at the thumbnail , I don't care about that , im subbed already

what I care about is numbers , and this is a pretty accurate simulation of an R5 ,

some bioses even allow for what CCX config (4+2 , 4+4 , 3+3 , 4+0 )  , all you have to do is match clocks and boom

you have a 98% accurate emulation of an R5 and R3

what even was so bad about the thumbnail? was it the tested in the title? Jesus Christ you guys have no chill

As I said in previous Ryzen threads, this was to be expected. 8-cored R7 chips are not dedicated for gaming and it's better to use cheaper R3 and R5 chips to get similar performance.

The only thing I wonder, whether the R3 and R5 chips will OC better. This is already enough, however more OC headroom (which is very likely due to a lower core count, same as with the 4790K & 5960X) would only benefit gaming performance and bring it even closer to Intel's while obliterating Intel's offerings in productivity and heavy workloads for the price.

Yeah it took me all of 3 seconds to figure out that they decided to go from just clickbait to outright lying in the title as well. Does the speed at which you realized it make the title any more truthful?

So far they've done the following to get more views:

Clickbait titles

Clickbait thumbnails

Outright lying in the title

What is next? Are they going to start making their thumbnails pictures of women in bikinis or something in order to farm more views? I'm glad they've got people like you trained who just bend over and spread their cheeks when they do shit like this but not everyone is so eager to please them...

That's actually a great idea, and one that LTT should seriously consider. Studies show that T and A attract significantly more "eye time" whenever it appears on a web page, so it only makes sense that LTT start relying on this tried and true internet marketing tactic. After all, they are a BUSINESS trying to make MONEY.
