Intel Processor lineup for 2017(Not including mobile processors)

As usual Intel is expected to unveil their enthusiast and server CPUs in the first half of this year and the mainstream CPUs in the second half of this year. Skylake-E will replace Broadwell-E. This revision of processors will bring the features of Skylake to processors with more than four cores. It will likely use the X299 chipset and the C622 chipset. In theory, these processors will be fully supported on Windows versions prior to Windows 10. These new Skylake-E, Skylake-EP, and Skylake-EX processors will use the LGA3647 socket which is much larger than the LGA 2011-3 socket. Hexa-channel memory is rumored to be supported on the X299 chipset.

The lineup of Skylake-E may be as follows:

Core i9-7950X (12 Cores)

Core i9-7900K (10 Cores)

Core i9-7850K (8 Cores)

Core i9-7800K (8 Cores)

 

There will also be a variety of Skylake Xeons which support dual and quad socket operation. All of Skylake Xeons will end with “v5”. The fastest dual-socket Xeon will be the Xeon E5-2699v5 with more than 24 cores.

The mainstream processors will either be called Cannonlake or Coffeelake. They may or may not use a new socket but it is likely they will have more cores.

The lineup for the next generation of Intel Processors may be as follows:

Core i7-8700K (6 Cores)

Core i7-8700 (6 Cores)

Core i5-8600 (4 Cores)

Core i5-8500 (4 Cores)

Core i5-8400 (4 Cores)

Core i3-8350K (4 Cores)

Core i3-8300 (4 Cores)

Core i3-8100 (4 Cores)

I was under the assumption that one was desktop while the other was mobile.

kabylake->cannonlake->coffeelake->icelake->tigerlake to be desktop. mobile follows the desktop naming, but the enthusiast platform remains one name scheme behind so far.

Rumors stated that Intel may skip Kaby Lake for enthusiasts and servers.

I'm not sure but it will probably be slightly higher than the 6850K.

Any word on the socket for the mainstream processors?

Being 8 core CPUs, I would imagine that socket 1151 wouldn't support it.

The socket for the mainstream CPUs is unknown at this time.
