Running Windows 10 on server motherboard

Hey guys,

 

I got an old intel s5000 palr Server Motherboard ( dual xeon LGA 771 socket) from my dads work.

Im now wondering if I could run Windwos as an operating system on this board, when i get two

cheap old xeons from ebay and a harddrive.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work....

i red just now, that win 10 supports more than 2 CPUS ...

But the thing here is : Will I have much struggle? I mean i dont have

much "pc-knowledge"

Finding the appropriate drivers may become a big problem as that is very old platform.

It should be pretty straight-forward... If you run into any issues, you can always make a forum thread :)

What is the max CPUS win 10 supports??? I thought it was 1 for home and 2 for pro, and you then needed to go to a server OS for 4+

Im a bit stupid..

i looked up the maximum physical supported cores just right now.

The hraphic i found says exactly what you wrote..

aye thought so, if you want win 10 on it, as you don't have a spare grand, then you might be able to run it through fancy shit on linux, and from that make windows think that tehre is only 2 or 1 CPU when actually there is 4+ no idea  how to do this mind you though, and I am only  guessing it's possible, cause linux
