i fixed one of my friends wired xbox controllers and have been using it for drl drone racing. I was wondering if there was a way to un springload the left stick in the up and down direction so that it would be like a normal transmitter. thanks!

you could likely just take whatever springs there are out of the joystick housing. I believe Xbox controllers use hall effect sensors in the joysticks like many other controllers so you should be able to take them apart and reassemble without messing with the electronics at all. Nope im wrong, they use potentiometer based joysticks. This is what they look like. Im unsure on how they are sprung, but i would venture to guess there is just a small preloaded spring under the plastic shaft that would need to be removed.
