Choosing between Lenovo Y700, 700 and Dell Inspiron 15 7000 both core i5 for gaming

Go to solution Solved by Benliam12,

I've been searching for a budget mid-gaming laptop and I came cross these three laptops with listed specs :

1- Lenovo ideapad Y700 (800 $)

Core i5 6300 HQ

8 GB RAM

1 TB HDD (no ssd)

GTX 960m 2 GB VRAM

2-  Lenovo ideapad 700 (850 $)

Core i7 6700 HQ

8 GB RAM

1 TB HDD + 128 GB SSD

GTX 950m 4 GB VRAM

3- Dell Inspiron 15 7000 (930 $)

Core i7 6700 HQ

16 GB RAM

1 TB HDD + 8 GB SSD

GTX 960m 4 GB VRAM

All laptop pricing are in the shops around. I'm more into that Lenovo Y700, with extra 50$ I can get a 128 GB Ssd, would it worth? Also would the 4 VRAM make a noticeable performance than the 2 GB version?

I can personally vouch for the Inspiron 15, good all-arounder laptop. I have the I5 6300 model with 8gb and an 256 ssd. Been using it for CAD and Fusion 360 and also light gaming. the 4gb vram comes into play in bumping up the textures in games. My testing gives me 70+ fps on CS:GO, 60+ in GTA V...

I'm not sure if the 960m is fast enough to be bottlenecked by the i5 or 2GB of VRAM, so it might be a good choice. 2GB of VRAM is still kinda sketchy tho.

The i5 isn't a bottleneck for a 960M. The 2GB Vram is, however, quite a heavy bottleneck. I tap into well over 2.5GB in most games at 1080p on my 4GB model.

Unfortunately I don't have it in my country, and it would cost more than 1000 after import fees

Then get the Dell of these three. If it's the best you can do, grab that one.

IPS you have! So no need to change, I saw some reviews before "could be for another batch of that dell" saying the screen was horrible and people who gonna buy it should change it

That's the 7559. The Maxwell gen. The 7567 is the Pascal gen. And it does have a shitty screen.

I might mixed things together. Where did you find that 800$ for the 7567 model, the one I found at Dell website is 900$ for i5 version.
