3d monitor vs VR

hi ,

cant any monitor with high refresh rate support 3d ? isn't 3d just masking images using filters (3d glasses) at high fps ?

I'm thinking to buy a new monitor. I don't really need ultra high refresh rates and response time for competitive games . I need sufficient refresh rates for greater detail and immersion.

I'm currently looking at a 27'' monitor . but the question is , should I opt for a 4k 3d monitor or buy a decent 27'' monitor and set up a vr .

ive never tried oculus or vive so I don't really know the VR experience. I'm only familiar with 3D .  does VR support 3d along with 360 ? can I game in VR ( not VR ready games , any usual games, without motion sensing or 360.jus like a regular more immersive screen, if possible with 3D  ).

so

VR or monitor ?

can I run 3d content on high refresh monitor wearing 3d glasses ?

can VR support 3D too (ie..depth (and/or) 360 view)?

can I game on VR jus like a regular screen ?

{ If yes, should I opt for VR and basic monitor or 4k 3d monitor for greater immersion ? }

4k monitor or 3d VR ?

Go for VR, 3D monitor would not be good for long run gaming and may make you dizzy. It's not much convenient and also VR stuff makes you feel like you're looking at a huge screen, which is better and also you want have any distractions.. And yes VR IS 3D!!!!  3D monitor may have high latency ... yes VR is like a regular screen (HTC VIVE best) Yes you can use them as regulator screen

3D monitors are going the way of the dinosaur.  Asus' ROG monitors haven't supported 3D for the last few generations.  VR is a much better experience but keep in mind that content not designed for VR will not be as fun as you think because you will get dizzy/headache.

that's something like passive 3d which is kinda like what you see in theatres and cheap TVs which is complete crap. Active 3D has a 3840x1080 for a 1080p (if i did the math right in my head) panel. Active 3d is the only 3d worth watching as its actually not a bad experience for most people.

Anyway go VR, it is way better than trying to run 3d off a regular 4k monitor and there will be more support for it
