First pictures of AMD VEGA reference card leaked

That's definitely not white, that's brushed aluminium. Not just the backplate it seems, but the entire card.

So the good people at legitreviews got their hands on some leaked pictures of AMD's upcoming high end graphics card, called AMD RX Vega. The pictures shows a movie playing on a laptop, showing the reference design of the upcoming card(s).

It's quite interesting to see a white backplate. I wonder if that is going to be the standard, or if there will be a black version too. Either way, it has the Vega logo on it, which looks quite nice. All in all, it seems to use the reference design made for Fury back in the days with a more elaborate backplate.

My take:

Personally, I think it looks quite good. I've always liked the new reference design, as it's very minimalistic and clean looking. However, I do hope the actual cooling improves, as well as better noise levels. Blower style is great for overall temps inside a case, especially ITX cases, so having a high quality blower fan/heatsink is very welcome. As long as the VRM are top notch too. I'm not too sure about the white backplate though. Seems to clash quite a bit with.. well everything.

White and black. Nice.

Now lets hope the blower style stock cooler isn't trash and sounds like an F-15 with afterburners on.

Can't say I like that white. Would have prefered another Fury X aesthetic.

What’s with AMD reference cards looking more and more like boxes these days? Next thing you know, we’ll have a perfect rectangular prism for a GPU ?

Yeah I think it's really nice compared to the "gaming" klingon looking crap these days.

"IT'S GOT A SOUL..."

I'm starting to worry how AMD will market this card..

Please avoid feeding the argumentative narcissistic academic monkey.

I like the backplate a lot, but it does kinda ruin it with the rest of the shroud being black.

Huh, it's Nvidia who for some unknown reason tried to make their GTX 1060 cards look like the Millenium Falcon...

No, it's not real.

I prefer the plain RX look much more to be fair. And I very much prefer no premium price on reference cards.

looks decent , wish they did an aftermarket design , the rectangle block design will go only so far

I cannot fully comment on the aesthetic or design choices as I can barely see anything, but I will note on two things:

- While the white backplate is not my cup of tea, it is not a bad option; people do like white builds. You can maybe get a black aftermarket backplate if you want it.

- That appears to be a Fury X styled chassis with dual brackets, which lead me to believe that a water cooling system is involved in the design. I can only hope that there are AiB models with standard open-air fan cooling, as reference/AiB water-cooling cards tend not to be particularly space efficient (especially not the Fury X or Fury Nano).

Read the community standards; it's like a guide on how to not be a moron.

Don't think this version is, but I also don't think AMD's top-end card will get an air cooler after having put the Fury X on water.

I'd like it more if it didn't have the red on it. Simple black and white would be perfect for me.

What's wrong with the boxy design? I really like it. Makes it look utilitarian.
