weird (edge case) issue with URLs in notifications

so.. today something caught my eye, my notifications dropdown thingy had a horizontal scrollbar, after closer investigation caused by this notification:

with some loving help from the fellow forumers i got it all the way to the bottom of the list:

then one more, and gone horizontal scrollbar:

where the pineapples came from are still a mystery however

(not sure wether to tag mortis or not, but i guess he'll stumble into this thread either way)

but my question is, is this a small oversight in forum design, or something you cant really do anything against? it seems like the forum couldnt make heads or tails on where to cut the line in the URL, and just went scrollbar instead.
