I can't say i've tried it, but 2560 x 1080 doesn't sound like a great experience. Maybe I'm wrong.  But man, after using 1440p or 1600p monitors I don't think i could drop that extra bit of vertical space.

however,
that 176 for open box might be enough to pick one up for my mom.  I'm sure wouldn't know the difference.

I own 2. It is an awesome experience when gaming. Being able to see that much more to my left and right because of the 21:9 ratio is awesome. And most games support the resolution without problems. With a traditional 16:9 even if you go up in resolution does not actually allow you to see more. But the scaling is the same 16:9. Although higher resolution will always offer better quality.

My Gaming Rig (Build November 2014):

I have this same exact monitor. It's fantastic. Of course a higher resolution will look better and technically give you a larger canvas to work with, but it's a very good budget UW monitor, and an excellent monitor in general.
