1080p 30fps capable gpu

Guest

I need a gpu that is capable of running every game atm(excluding really difficult/unoptimised ones like Mafia 3) at 30fps medium settings or better @ 1080p. Power consumption is a factor, but being cheap outweighs that unless it is a really hot and demanding card (450w psu). it can be used or new, but as cheap as possible. the idea is to not kill a console but perform slighly better with all the benefits of a pc. any suggestions?

Your location? The RX 470 or RX 480 would both be good choices, or a GTX 1050ti if your PSU doesn't have a PCI-E power plug.

those are too much and too powerful. i just want a card under £90ish- i forgot to say that. it doesnt have to be that good at all, maybe half or less of what the 470s and 1050 tis give. ive seen 560tis do what i want, something like that is fine but maybe a little newer

You can play games at 60+ FPS these days. a GTX 1050 will get you medium settings and 60+ FPS.

If you had asked yesterday, I could've recommended you buy an RX 460 from Walmart.com I snagged one for $86 with free 2-day shipping yesterday.

Overkill? If it's Overkill for you then that just means you'll be able to keep using it a bit longer, or is this for a non-gaming build?

The 1050 is cheap and you don't need extra power for it.

an RX 460 should work perfectly then, and if anything will allow you to keep chugging along for a bit longer before you have to upgrade. You can purchase one new for around $86USD with some snooping around the net.

EDIT: This one is $82 USD after rebate on Newegg; https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202269&cm_re=RX_460-_-14-202-269-_-Product

Are you gonna play hard-to-run games at 30fps locked? I absolutely hate framerate varience. If you don't lock it I think it will vary too much and provide a worse experience than console, potentially

that was the idea for a 30hz tv as a tv gaming box and htpc i would lock games at 30 but try to get 30fps 100% of the time

Get an RX 470. Great bang for buck.

Look for a working gtx 660 for about $50 on ebay and make sure you have 2x6pin PCIe connectors on your PSU. If not or it uses to much power look for a RX 460 for about $90 or less on PCPartPicker.

Best of luck!
