Lead Producer for ME:A confirms on twitter 1080 ti will run at 4k/60 on Ultra

Earlier today, we got our first report of Mass Effect: Andromeda’s PC performance. After EA worried us with recommended requirements targeting just 1080p@30 on High settings, it seems like they were just being very conservative and the game should actually run much smoother.

Bioware’s Michael Gamble, Producer on Mass Effect: Andromeda (as well as the original trilogy), commented on Twitter that the PC version is not a port and gamers can rest easy on its quality.

Quote

We then asked him if the fastest new single GPU produced by NVIDIA, the GTX 1080 Ti, will be able to run Mass Effect Andromeda smoothly at 4K and Ultra settings. Apparently, it may even hit the 60+FPS sweet spot.

This is really nice to hear, as me and many others were worry the game was going to have a lot of optimization issues due to the min spec being quoted at 30 fps. According to a few other reports the game will be up there in optimization, but not quite at the BF1/Battlefront levels. They appear to have just taken a very conservative rout in the min/rec spec, perhaps those numbers were min fps???

Here's to hoping my 1080 non-ti can manage 1440p ultra at 60+fps.

Guess we'll have to wait and see. As in, I'm waiting until a month or two after release when it's been patched a few times, I'm not pre-ordering shit.

Yeah I am in the same boat, but on a 1440p ultra wide. I have a feeling we will be fine.

Will my system manage 60fps 1080p okay(ish) then? don't mind buying some more ram just with driving lessons budgets getting tight, and I really want to dig into ME-A.

someone who was reviewing on his laptop i7/980m and he was getting 45-60/1080p while shadowplay was running, and after dropping most to high with a few ultras he was getting a consistent 60. You will probably be able to pull good frames on high.

Brilliant, may throw 16GB ram in the rig since with other games coming out in 2017 probably for the best, but it's not as urgent now as before.

When I went from 8gb to 32gb that was nice. Having enough ram for whatever is well worth the small upgrade cost. My problem is SSD storage, and can't get myself to pull the trigger on a 1TB 960 EVO atm.

In the same boat, would love a 1TB SSD for my Steam Library but I can't justify the cost when in a few years tops I expect the price to drop big time.

considering you can get another 8GB 2133 ram for around $45-50 it's really a no brainer, I'd go for it. I recently bumped up to 16GB and it gives me plenty of wiggle room.

I've been waiting for this to get new M.2 SSD, didn't realize it's out.

Edit: $249 for 500GB, meh

Ah I should be more clear, my CPU cooler blocks me adding another 8GB (2x4GB in currently) so essentially I have to replace those with 2x8GB sticks.  Still going to validate the ram in mem test for a good few hours, and sell it on, should bring some cash back.

I'm sure it will render the 3 different colours in the end just fine.

This is a game I've been waiting for. Unfortunately, I'll have no GPU to run it. xD By the time the 1080 Ti is available, hopefully any bugs will be straightened out by then.

This is not consistent with their recommended specs for 1080p30

Unless they were super conservative on the published specs. Its a Frostbite game it shouldn't run bad on PC at all.

not all Frostbyte games ran OK, remember DA:I? it ran like shit
