LOL @ all the people spending extra on K series CPUs, but motherboards without overclocking. The R7 1700 would be my choice, but I'm not ready yet.

I think everyone's getting the same, or atleast similar SSD to what I've got. To me HDD just needs to die.

I know my brother got a GTX 1070, but I take pride in my humbleness with the RX 460.

I do find it cool that a lot of people are buying a cheap keyboard even though it wasn't Linus' particular favorite in the video he featured it in.

I've been using my EVGA 650W 80+ bronze PSU for ~ 2 years now.

I want the taylor's jokes back. these jokes were just painful. Having linus getting a " O_o " reaction from not reading the script before hand is funny. also, not sure if this was a missed joke but at one point, linus didn't read the script about some wan show stuff in a normal video. 10/10 it was a joke linus didn't want to read. > : C why you ruining the fun linus. where is the " you need to have a sense of humor because you will be working with this guy (linus) " requirement of the job?!?

It would be interesting comparing people buying CPU/motherboards independently vs people who buy both in one purchase.

I wonder if more people pick the AF fans over SP, not for money saving but for aesthetics? since the SP ones are only coloured rims where as the AF ones can be lit

Is it really that hard to figure out why the B150 is on there with the 7700k?
Pricing. Chances are Amazon had the best price on that board and not the Z series boards.

I don't think many people only pick one vendor when building a PC.

I don't think it's that surprising to buy the 7700K and get a MOBO that can't overclock.

I mean yeah, it's kinda defeating the purpose, but doesn't the 7700K still have the best base and turbo clock speeds? Some people don't want to bother with overclocking and the 7700K has the best performance of the box regardless.

I have to wonder how many people are lying on this. I really can't believe the 7700K is the most common CPU listed. Would people lie in a completely anonymous internet poll? Probably.

Why do some buy K cpus along with a budget board? The answer is pretty self explanatory, budget limit. Overclocking is fun and boost performance, but it's not a must have and upgrading to a overclock motherboard, is a lot faster than saving up for a $400 cpu.

Surprised so many people went with a non-modular power supply, after my first computer with a non-modular power supply I could never deal with trying to find spots for all those useless cables now. Also find it amazing that the Hyper 212 Evo is still the king in cooling.

K CPUs give you e-peen. Motherboard features don't.

The LTT audience is actually not that tech literate on average, which explains the choice of an i7 over i5 as well.

"I lectured you guys for spending an extra $100 for a i7 6700K after telling you that the i5 6600K was the best pick of gamers. Either you are more content creators than I thought or maybe nobody cares what I think."

Or has Linus considered a third option where he's simply just wrong? Games are utilising those extra threads especially if you're rocking a powerful, high-end GPU (titles include Battlefield 1, Watch Dogs 2, Fallout 4, Gears of War 4, Crysis 3, The Witcher 3 and more)... but the biggest impact is that you are getting higher minimum framerates and more consistent frametimes, resulting in a much more smoother and more pleasant gaming experience. If people have the budget for it, the i7 6700/7700K is not a bad investment at all, especially for people playing at 1080/1440p 144Hz who are targeting beyond FPS.

Given that the LTT channel is so influential and popular, it's things like this that make people spread misinformation and make it difficult to correct. Two other examples are the "High Speed RAM" and the "Delidding a i7 6700K" videos where Linus implemented the wrong testing methodology and got results that shouldn't have been valid in the first place. Yet, because of those videos, people think that fast RAM does nothing for gaming while sites like Digital Foundry, through proper testing, say otherwise. It's starting to piss me off.

Okay, rant over. Now, why are people buying B150 motherboards with i7 7700Ks? Are they that uninformed because I doubt a good portion of them are buying them separately. Or better yet, why are people cheaping out on the power supply? The thought of people running i7 7700Ks and GTX 1070/1080/1080Tis on EVGA 500Bs makes me shudder.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Nvidia cards are clearly better selling than amd cards, k. I understand.

Most sold monitor has freesync, umm...

Am i the only one that doesn't understand this?

It really looks like amd is playing the long game with freesync and with vega i'm assuming it will start to show.

But whatever that's what i'm expecting O_o
