Overclocking 7700K

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Recently, I build my friend a $1400 pc with a 7700k at it's heart. I want to overclock it to 4.8 GHz, but I want to hear your take on it. I have added an additional .1volt to the max voltage to keep it at 1.4v while overclocked. The parts list is here, and I need to know if I am doing things correctly. Thank You!

PR Slim isn't a good idea for 4.8 on 1.4 V. I also wouldn't go over 1.35 unless you have an AIO or high-end aircooler

With a 7700k kaby lake you should go with a better cooler and try to reach 4.9ghz, 5.0 ghz

I think its just worth it to get better heatsink in the 50-100$ range with a 7700k
