Windows 10 is buggy as fuck when using a Ryzen CPU - its all kinds of bad.

let's just hope that stuff gets fixed.. its a matter of time now! - if this gets fixed in 6 months.. Ryzen will be forgotten.. however if this gets fixed in a few weeks.. new hype might be build on ryzen again.. just needs to get things ironed out... this includes windows, bios and game optimization...

Bizarre that it works much better in Windows 7, and Linux quickly got their scheduler fixed as well.


Makes you wonder how long MS has had AMD samples, and why it's taking so long to sort this out.

To be fair, Windows 10 itself is a "recent launch", given how under-tested it was, and how they keep changing it anyway. I think a good case can be made testing and benchmarking hardware on a different OS until Win 10 is mature enough, so that we are not simultaneously testing the hardware and the OS.

Libre office exists and most other apps don't require high performance so the switch to linux wouldn't hurt it.

I do wonder... if the Windows clock is running slower, 60fps for Windows is not 60fps in reality, can we actually see worse performance as less frames are actually delivered, despite better numbers?

wouldn't hurt but most places have a client/server set up using windows, the cost of man hours to get everything working + training people to use linux really isn't worth it.

The Real Time Clock is part of the ACPI that contains the HPET table that AMD say needs to be enabled (others say not). Maybe there's some bug with their HPET batch file that comes with their chipset update - http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows+10+-+64 - that is also used to install the Ryzen Balanced Power Plan in Windows 10.

At the time this thread was posted, there was no "Ryzen Balanced" power plan.  That came later.  You resurrected the thread for a non sequitur.

I have a (maybe related) different bug after sleeping my 1700.

Sometimes, after waking up, certailn input will corrupt my audio temporarily (splt second) e.g. scrolling the voume wheel on my k70, or spamming sniper button on G502.
