Buying a 3DS

lieder1987

Hey you guys, I just want your general opinion about something. I am looking at upgrading from my DS to the 3DS in order to play some specific games that are not available (the newer Brainage and some others). My question is do you think it is a good time to get one? It seems that everyone is sold out or they only have that hideous new purple cosmic color.

Thoughts?

I bought my 3DS on launch day and I don't regret it.  If you're looking for bang for your buck though, I'd for sure go with the 2DS.  To be honest, I probably would have if it had come out at launch.

I fully agree with AnnoyedShelf, in that if you're just going to be playing a few 3ds games the 2ds is a great option. Otherwise, if you want to you can get the 3ds xl for a much larger screen, though there isn't much reason to get a 'vanilla' 3ds

Thanks. I had planned on getting the 3DS Xl since it is the newest version. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I had no intention of buying the original 3DS.

TBH the thing getting me away from the 2DS is the form factor. I just can't wrap my head around the size of the thing.

It is kind of crummy, but if you don't need the stupid 3D gimmick, it's really great as far as price goes.  The form factor isn't so bad if you carry around a backpack all the time though.

Hey bro, personally as AnnoyedShelf noted I would recommend getting a 2ds. It's more worth it, and leaves more spending money for games and what not. Also if you decide to get a Nintendo Switch up the road :)
