Which Blade should I buy?

I am looking to buy a new laptop and have settled on the Razer Blade (14") with the UHD touch display. I need as much storage as I can get so the 1TB option is the obvious choice. However, the latest Blade with the UHD display and a 1TB SSD costs $2800. I can get the previous gen (6th gen intel rather than 7th) with a 256GB SSD for $2100 on Amazon. Should I take the plunge and buy the latest? Or should I save a few hundred dollars and buy the previous gen and get a 1TB upgrade for it? The final costs minus taxes would be $2800 vs $2580. Is the 7th gen Intel i7 really worth the extra money? (I really don't care about watching Netflix at 4K as I don't even have a Netflix account)

You should burn it on top of some firewood instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiIyGKqxCLY

Check out this sick 100C throttling.

cramming high heat component into a small chassis is never a good idea especially for longterm. OP i suggest a gt stealth vr or a dell xps 15.

To clarify, My current computer is a 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina display and it regularly hits 190ºF plus. I do not care about thermal throttling as I will never push it hard enough to do any harm to the machine or thermal throttle nearly as much as my current computer.

190 is like 89c, that's toasty but under Intel's set tjmax of 95c.

idk

My question was never about the model or brand of laptop that I should by. So my original question still stands. 6th or 7th gen i7?

I have seen my computer go as high as 211ºF before.

100c solid.. rb can hit 105 under GPU+CPU maxed which happens while gaming. It's a horribly engineered machine, it's like they stole the old Mac designs, painted it black and added a better GPU. The 100c that you saw in the video above was with the CPU being stressed ONLY.

idk

I would get the 7th gen since you want the blade, but might I suggest the Aorus X3 V7.

Just a quick question, isn't the xps 15 also cramming a lot of high performance parts in a small chassis?

Can we just actually try and answer his question? I totally get that you guys are trying to offer him advice but at the end of the day it's his choice if he wants to go with the razer or not.

Thank you for answering the original question. I more than likely will end up going with the 7th gen i7. As for the suggestion on the Aorus X3 V7, I will be using the laptop almost exclusively for content creation (mainly photography),  school work, and general use and only occasionally gaming on the rare chance that I actually have some free time. With that being said, I prefer a gloss or semi gloss screen when editing photos and I believe a touch screen would become very useful to me. So thank you for suggesting another laptop rather than out rite telling me to get a different one, but I think that I'll stick with the Razer Blade.

no? 1050 is like a super oced 960m. also, designed far better than a blade with a non-hdt heatsink.

u can answer it then. you can't answer a value proposition question when you fundamentally believe that neither is a good price.

I know, I'm just advising him of the horrible problems the machine has. In fact, it's not just Razer - lots of thin and

light laptops suffer from the same issues. Noticed how I said 'lots' not 'all'?  XPS15 for example - after repaste with as5 and some internal thermal pads, you get 85c under 100% load on CPU.

idk

I'll bring the marshmallows~ that small with a 1060 is too good to be true unfortunately imo...

That said I would get the last gen one, pretty sure kabylake is hotter than skylake. I think its 4k video for netflix and for youtube if that changes anything (probably not).

(current) hp ENVY m6 - AMD A10-4600M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.30 GHz

See the thing is with the 4k encoding and decoding (10-bit hevc), it can be done on the GPU. Pascal supports it, but nobody can be arsed to code for it (more likely intel has some shady business deal to force 4k encoding and decoding for their kaby lake lineup). So I'm really annoyed by that.

Basically, it means that netflix can support pascal decoding but choose not to.
