What OS(s) do you use, which OS do you prefer & why?

Much like @namandoesnotpanic I use only Win10 on my desktop on which I game, but only Arch on my laptop which is old but runs wonderfully. I use the laptop for school so I take it everywhere and use it daily, programming, studying, reading, but when I get home I tend to spend my time in Windows.

I imagine most here will be running Windows since, you know, games n stuff. But I thought it would be cool to have a thread about OS usage and preference. I made a little survey thingy on google forms to go along with it, too.

Personally, I'm a Linux kinda person. The only real trouble I've encountered with the OS so far is X11 (which is, thankfully, being replaced by wayland) and Nvidia's crummy drivers. Besides that, I wish more programs supported it, because It's really nice :(. OSX.12 is pretty cool, too, despite it requiring apple hardware to run.

Have been using windows since got my first pc. It's very simple operating system thats why I use it . I've had some problems with it , only because of my dumbness tho.

I've been using Windows since Windows 98, so as it has grown and evolved, I've been there to experience it. And as such, I'm pretty familiar with Windows. Sure, I'm not so familiar with the super deep level stuff, but 9/10 times I can solve a problem with a windows machine without internet help. Would I use something else? Sure, but I'm so comfortable and familiar with Windows that I don't feel any pressure to move to anything else. Plus, I would have to learn a whole new OS, and that sounds like a pain in the ass, especially when my lack of knowledge gets in the way of me doing work.

Mac OS (hackintosh) for work and chill and Windows 8.1 for gaming on my desktop. I used W7 then laptop died so switched to Mac, W8 was a complete mess at the time so yeah. W10 is still a buggy mess when I tried it so I decided to stick with 8.1 on my desktop and skin it to look like 7. Not the best but fuck it, rarely game these days anyway. So TL;DR Laptop - Mac OS, Desktop - Mac OS & W8.1

Windows for gaming. OS X for work and other things.

If I have to choose one, OS X.

I have been gaming a lot lesser than I used to.

But still don't want to ditch my gaming desktop.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
